Gus is in Oregon and needs a forever home!

Here is Gus a two and a half year old male Akbash dog. Gus is a fantastic fellow. He has had working experience but will do fine as a companion dog on acreage also. He is eager to please and is a very personable fellow.

Here is Gus and his sister Molly. They were quite a pair but I sadly had to split them as Molly was a bit of a trouble maker and took Gus along for the ride!  Molly is now guarding Alpaca and doing great. However Gus is lonely and needs another female dog buddy and a forever home of his own.

I cannot tell you how handsome and wonderful this dog is! I met him personally when he was in California. Myself and another dog trainer friend of mine were amazed at how quickly and easily he took to leash work. In his foster home his foster says he is the only one of her working livestock guardian dogs that comes when called! He also is contained by adequate fencing, he is not a fence climber or jumper.

Here is Gus with his sister Molly being "trained" by the family's grandchild to have some patience around food! What good dogs!

If you are interested in Gus contact Akbash Dog Rescue Coordinator Janet Davis by e-mail straughie@comcast.net or phone 510 523-6161

I have an Akbash rescue from Wyoming named Simms. I'm pretty sure she is about 4 or 5, but she would love to have a friend! The problem is we have moved to Burlington, VT while I attend graduate school, so it might be a bit tough for Gus to make it out here. I hope someone can give him a great home... and if he heads east I'd love to meet him!
